SimCity Creator

Coming to the Wii and DS this fall, the power to create and destroy, if you so desire, your own city. SimCity Creator will ship this fall for the Wii and DS, making good use of both systems fun, innovative controls that will give gamers the ultimate power of their city.

SimCity Creator will ship on September 22, 2008 in North America and on September 19, 2008 in Europe and Asia-Pacific regions. This light-hearted of all the SimCity games is meant to be enjoyed by all ages.

There are 13 city styles to explore as you create the infrastructure of your city and then destroy it if you wish. With the Wiimote, you can make natural disasters such as earthquakes and tornadoes or even call in giant destructive giant robots and monsters to wreak havoc on your city.

SimCity Creator has not yet been rated.

Wii Fit Racing

Wii Fit raced onto two circuits over the Memorial Day Weekend. The weekend had two well-known races, the Coca-Cola 600 and the Indy 500.

Sterling Marlin was behind the wheel in the NASCAR number 40 and Alex Lloyd made his Indy debut in the number 16 hotrod.

So, how did they do? Sterling Marlin finished 31st out of 43. Alex Lloyd crashed and finished 25th by completing 151 out of 200 laps.

Lost in Blue

The Survivor-meets Blue Lagoon DS game, Lost in Blue, is coming to the Wii. No release date has been set for this hit title that is already on its third installment for the DS.

In Lost in Blue, you are stranded on a beautiful island where you must find food, shelter, and other essentials. You meet a girl and learn to work together to pool resources. Lost in Blue is a role playing, simulation game. It’s fun and innovative. For the Wii it should be an interesting experience.

My Sims Kingdom

The sequel to MySims is coming this fall to the Wii and DS. MySims Kingdom will take the Sims to the Middle Ages. Here you will have to fight to restore the kingdom to its former glory.

Throughout your adventure, new characters, lands, and contraptions will be revealed. Everything in the game is customizable in true Sims form.

MySims Kingdom will be traveling to a retail shelf near you this fall.

Cake Mania In the Mix

Now that Jill has saved her grandparents’ bakery, she is bringing her culinary creations to the Wii. Soon Wii players will be baking up a storm in Cake Mania In the Mix.

The casual game phenomenon has already made its way from the PC to the DS and now is headed to the Wii. Players will use the Wiimote to guide Jill throw nine bakeries, helping her make hundreds of special ordered cakes.

Cake Mania In the Mix is expected to be released early in 2009.

Wiiware Finally Launches

The much anticipated Wii Shop Channel, Wiiware, launched today with six exclusive titles for the Wii.

Wii Fit Event

Wii Fit is shaping up to be one of the bigger ‘game’ releases this spring for Nintendo as some stores have already sold out of their pre-order allotment. Wii Fit is scheduled to be released May 19th and to celebrate, there will be a huge launch party in Central Park.

The event will be held from 8am-5pm at Merchant’s Gate. The event will give everyone a chance to test out Wii Fit and the balance board. For every person who tries it out, Nintendo will make a $5 donation(up to $25,000) to the American Heart Association.

Wii Fit features 40 activities that involved the Wii balance board. There’s a mix of aerobics, yoga, strength training, and balancing exercises.

The event is not only a celebration of the launch of Wii Fit but a celebration of May as National Physical Fitness and Sports Month.

Speed Racer

So, who will be racing to the theater to see Speed Racer? How about to buy the video game now available for the Wii?

Speed Racer the video game is now available in the United Kingdom. The video game features the voices of Emile Hirsch as Speed Racer, Matthew Fox as Racer X and Christina Ricci as Trixie, who reprise their film roles as playable characters. Players will race to perform “car fu” battles at high rates of speed. Battle on one of 19 different tracks and do some extreme racing for the World Racing League cup.

Protothea

Anyone else excited about the launch of WiiWare? Here is another title to look forward to. Protothea is from UbiSoft and is a 3D top-down vertical side scrolling shooter game. Players will be in full control of a last-generation spaceship through the Wiimote and Nunchuk.

“Ubisoft is excited to bring Protöthea exclusively to the platform and we feel it’s a must-have WiiWare title,” shared James Regan, vice president of third party operations, Ubisoft. “Protöthea really reminds me of some of the best arcade games, with the Wii Remote as an added dimension. It’s just a flurry of fast-paced action that anyone can simply pick up and enjoy.”

Protothea is due out this May.

New VC Cinco de Mayo

So once you’re done celebrating Cinco de Mayo, there are two new games available through the Wii Shop Channel that might be the perfect way to end the day Mexico celebrates their 1862 initial victory over France.

There’s the puzzler - Pokémon Puzzle League (Nintendo 64®, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 1,000 Wii Points) or do battle in Renegade™ (NES®, 1-2 players, Rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older – Mild Violence, 500 Wii Points).
