A Few Words About……

by Tim

Let the engines roar, the nitro spray and the trucks fly. I recently spent some time with ExciteTruck and I must say I have been having a blast. ExciteTruck is nowhere near as deep as say Burnout or Need For Speed but who cares. Sure there’s not much to unlock and realists won’t appreciate the trucks flying 200 feet through the air and the terrain morphing right before your eyes but therein lies the fun. Taken at face value ExciteTruck is probably the Wiis finest driving title to date. Anybody can enjoy this title all you have to do is hit the gas tilt the WiiMote to steer and away you go.

Even casual gamers can achieve an “S” rank on the first course with only one try. Not to say that the game is lacking in challenge once you get past the Bronze Cup races the game progresses nicely. There is a slight learning curve, it will take you about two or three races before you’re launching yourself high into the air. While playing the later tracks I realized the only way to gain ground on the race leader was to launch off jumps and land perfectly gaining a small boost. Master this technique and you will unlock “Super Excite” mode before you can say “Waaaaahooo!”

I will say that I did not enjoy playing this game. I found it to hurt my wrists with the movements.

I can see how some people would enjoy the challenge, but I could not get over the fact that my thumbs were not my steering wheel.

  2. sonykiller Says:

that’s too bad rayna01. i guess body movement is too difficult for you. i’m sick and tired of hearing all this p*ssy *ss bullsh*t. all these lazy morons who can’t play with the wii because it makes them sweat, makes them feel the necessary pain of exercise, or makes them feel stupid because they have no coordination! get a f*ckin life! get off your lazy *ss and get involved in some actual activity other than wanking it, talking on the phone, or surfing the web! you all make me sick to know that this country allows and breeds pathetic, worthless whiners.

  3. WIIness Says:

ok rayna01 u have some really bad problems if excite truck “hurt ur wrist”, get a f***ing life really cuz we all know that moving ur wrist about 3 inches will not hurt unless ur a f***ing p*ssy (o i dont want to play excite truck because if i move my wrist i will hurt it really bad cuz im a f***ing p*ssy and i sit at home and do nothing all day) f***ing loser

  4. rayna01 Says:

I would like to ask how stating my opinion and giving an explanation to why I did not enjoy playing a game classifies me as a “f***ing p*ssy” and lazy? I have bad wrists, but I gave the game a try and it irritated them. I’m not quite sure why I am bothering explaining this to either one of you. Sonykiller - given I have heard the same arugment, people do not like how intense and active the wii can be, however, it does not seem like you (wiiness) is very intelligent, you brought nothing to this, except repeating everything sonykiller had to say. Way to be a sheep.

  5. Revy Says:

“Sonykiller” “WIIness”? As a wise man once said, ignore those fans whom name themselves after the object of their desires.

  6. Tim Says:

Oh boy fanboys! Umm let me try

hey sonykiller and wiiness windows vista out sells the ps3 and the wii’s online system is ultimatly flawed. (Look Ma…no CAPS)

Damnit!I’m bad at this fanboy stuff. It’s really hard to reduce one’s perception to such a narrow scope. Personally, it gives me a headache.

  7. Fignuts Says:

Tim said: “wii’s online system is ultimatly flawed. (Look Ma…no CAPS)”

Are you saying you you can’t do caps on the Wii? Missed that shift key did ya? Cause you can do caps…

  8. Tim Says:

What I meant was that I didn’t use any caps when talking like a fanboy as Sonykiller and WiiNess already demonstrated but I guess that one went over your head too eh Fignuts?

  9. Jon Says:

Get some popcorn, the main event is about to begin.

    j/k

  10. Tim Says:

    mmmm.. popcorn

  11. WIIness Says:

Comment deleted because I’m an idiot.

  12. WIIness Says:

    Farfignoughan!

  13. WIIness Says:

I’m sorry Rayna, I apologize. What was I thinking going up against a beautiful strong woman like you?

  14. rayna01 Says:

Maybe if you had something intelligent to say and not verbal diarrhea, your posts wouldn’t be deleted. :)

  15. Revy Says:

I don’t understand why you people need to come onto to these usually nice friendly avenues of gaming news and post your own brand of piggish biggotry. You people are the reason I usually avoid gaming forums/comments.

So Rayna didn’t really like Excite Truck, for whatever reason. It’s no reason to get all offensive, so her opinion differs from yours get over it.

    Oh and Led Zeppelin rocks!!!

  16. rayna01 Says:

    Revy you rock!

  17. sonykiller Says:

if it was rayna01’s wrists that were the problem then she shouldn’t have posted a complaint. personal physical ailments are not cause for complaining about a game that makes your ailment worse. you people need to think a little further next time before posting complaints.

for the record, i’m not a fanboy of any system, i’m here to help silence idiots from posting ignorant comments and complaints.

also, putting caps in my comments for Tim is pointless since he seems to be able to read them just fine without.

Revy, if you read my post you’ll see i never personally attacked rayna01. i directed my frustration at the people who claim that the Wii has “hurt” them in some way. never did i say that rayna01 was one of these people.

rayna01, if you have taken offense to this, i apologize because that was not my intention. your “complaint”, which doesn’t have merit because you admitted it is your own physical ailment, just got me thinking about the people who don’t have physical ailments yet complain about body movement anyway because they’re lazy or whatever.

  18. Latro Says:

I’ve enjoyed Excite Truck a lot. Its a game that my brother in law who doesn’t play any video games can’t walk away from. I’m not sure why, but something simple as driving and crashing is extremely enjoyable to him.

  19. rayna01 Says:

sonykiller I appreciate that, however it was not a complaint in anyway, just an opinion and I was backing up reasoning for it.
