Another look at Nintendo Wii Games

by

Here’s a look at the few Wii games that are being put in the spotlight at E3 by Nintendo. Transcript to follow the jump.

Nintendo holds their E3 press conference and showcases several new games for the Wii.

Life moves at a slower pace in Animal Crossing - City Folk. Take time to enjoy each day with up to three friends in the comfort of your living room or through Wii’s WIFI connection. Catch fireflies on a summer evening, go trick-or-treating on Halloween, or hunt for eggs at Easter.

Use the new WiiSpeak microphone with Animal Crossing - City Folk to talk to your Wii friends. The Wii speak sits on top of your TV and picks up everyone’s voice, so more people can get in on the conversation.

Animal Crossing - City Folk will be available holiday 2008.

America’s pastime comes to the Wii this August - Mario style. Mario Super Sluggers will feature 40 characters from the Mario universe. Players will use the Wiimote as their baseball bat to take on several challenges in the Baseball kingdom as they work to build the ultimate team. Once your team is assembled, then it will time to take on, yep you guessed it, Bowser.

Up to four people can take up a wiimote to challenge each other in a game of baseball. Mario Super Sluggers is rated E for Everyone and will be released August 25, 2008.

Guess whose back in all his side-scrolling glory? Yep, Wario is back in a new adventure. Wario Land - Shake It will have players using the Wiimote to run, jump, and smash their way through various stages in the game. They can also shake the Wiimote to get shake loose coins as well as cause earthquakes! Wario Land - Shake It is rated E for Everyone and will be in stores September 22, 2008.

And finally, want to play a music game with no rules? well then check out Wii Music. Players use the Wiimote and nunchuk to play one of 40 instruments that include a banjo, guitar, and even a cowbell. Get together with up to three friends and jam. Play the instruments to the beat of the music or improv your own groove. Beside the main jam session, you can playback jam sessions as well as command an orchestra, take a tone quiz or play a handbell game.

Look for Wii Music this holiday season.
