An exclusive for the Wii based on the Toy Story franchise will be available this fall. Toy Story Mania is the first game to place the characters from the beloved Disney/Pixar movie into a carnival setting.

toystorymania

Wii gamers are probably familiar with these carnival games that are a set of mini games. In Toy Story Mania, the games will be inspired by the Toy Story attraction at Disney World and Disney Land.

The game will also consist of mini-games that are original and not based on the attraction. All games will be hosted by Toy Story characters.

Toy Story Mania will be released this fall as well as 3D versions of the movie followed by Toy Story 2 in 3D next February. All this is leading up to the release of Toy Story 3 in 3D in the summer of 2010.

Wii Music

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

First there was Wii Sports which challenged your athletic prowess. Now Wii Music looks to challenge the inner musician in you. Wii Music is set to be released October 20th and will use practically every Wii accessory that has ever been made. Well not really but it does make use of the Wiimote, Nunchuk, and Wii balance board.

So, not only will your left hand have to keep up with what your right hand is doing but both will also have to keep pace with your feet. It seems like a lot of work to play a video game but Wii Music hopes to capture some of the Guitar Hero/Rock Band fans with it’s game play. Why be limited to a guitar, bass, and drums when you can try out one of 60 different instruments? Imagine strumming on a banjo or hammering out a tune on the piano.

Players will take part in a jam session and then can play back their musical masterpiece. You can also send your jam sessions to your Wii friends and incorporate their Miis into your game. Aside from the jam session, you can pick up the baton and lead a band. You can even take a tone quiz to test your listening skills. Play a hand bell game to get the hang of swinging the Nunchuk and Wiimote controller. So there is more to do in this game that just freestyle music.

Wii Music is rated E for Everyone. One to four players can jam out at the same time. Wii Music is slated to be released October 20, 2008.

Pirate Party

Pirate Party will also be available fo the Nintendo DS.

Fun Park

Friday, June 13th, 2008

Many will be traveling this summer to a local theme park to ride some rides and have a good time. There are several Six Flags theme parks across the United States. When I was a kid, there were only two - one in Georgia and one in Texas. Now they are practically everywhere. There are now 21 Six Flag locations in North America, Canada, and Mexico. If you’re not located near one but want to experience all the excitement of Six Flags, have I got a new game to tell you about.

Fun Park is being developed by Brash Entertainment for the Nintendo Wii, DS, and and PlayStation 2. There are 40 mini-games that are based on classic theme park fun. Fun Park is based on the regional Six Flags theme parks. First order of business when playing is to create your character. Once that business is taken care of, it’s time to enter the park and choose which games you want to play. Players can test their skills, win prizes, and play against their friends in Fun Park.

funpark.jpg

Practice your shooting skills in class games like fill the balloon with water or shoot the moving duck decoys. Fun Park, like the mini-games before it, will make good use of the Wiimote. This type of game is the kind that is great for the Wii and to play with friends. Fun Park will be for the whole family no matter what their ages.

Fun Park has not yet been rated and is still being developed. It will be available this winter.
