Video Thursday: Shreddin’ Edition

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

Greetings everyone, sorry for the late post today but we’ve been having server issues which appear to be somewhat resolved so one with the show.

Today I am featuring videos from the latest addition to Activision’s Tony Hawk series. Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground will be the deepest most feature ridden title bear the Tony Hawk name. Features like a full blown video editing system, 3 separate classes of skateboarders and the all new “Skate Lounge” where you can build whatever park you like play full motion video and much more.

First up is the Debut trailer.

Next up we have the “Big Picture” trailer which goes a little more in-depth with the various feature which will be found in the game.

Impressed yet? I am, this game will be coming out for every platform under the sun including the Wii of course. However at this point it is not exactly clear which features will be exclusive to their respective platforms. I’m also pretty sure that all the gameplay footage is either pre-rendered or from the Xbox 360 version of the game. Never the less I have one word for this game “Insane” and you can quote me on that.

Hit the jump for the bonus round.

Video Thursday: Let’s Boogie Edition

Thursday, August 2nd, 2007

Everyone likes to dance! Young, old, casual, hardcore once in a while they all need to just get down and bust-a-move. No I don’t mean by matching coloured balls. I mean actually get down with one’s bad self and just let loose.

Next week EA will unleash Boogie on the unsuspecting public at which time living rooms the world over will erupt in a disco inferno of sorts with Wii Remotes and nunchucks flying about. But don’t take my word for it see for yourself.

And that’s not all! Boogie will come packaged with a microphone peripheral which will allow you to sing along to your favorite boogie-licious tune.

Did I spy some co-op gameplay with one player singing and the other gettin’ down with the Wii Remote? Find out August 9th when Boogie hits store shelves nationwide.

Video Thursday: Charged Edition

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

It’s Video Thursday once again in rally land and today I have some gameplay videos for you. The game featured this week is Mario Strikers: Charged, the Wii edition of the GameCube title of the same name; well minus the “Charged” part. Mario Strikers: Charged will be the first non-Pokémon Wii game to feature online multi-player. Also available in Europe, the downside is that folks from North America will not be able to play against their European counterparts. Still the game looks like but-load of fun. Enjoy!

Video Thursday: Harry Potter Edition

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

I have a confession to make. I am a fan of Harry Potter, not in the fanatical sense but I do appreciate the books and films. Although I didn’t like the film version of Goblet of Fire they cut too much out.

This really is a great time for Potter fans there seems to be no shortage of the young wizard lately. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: The Videogame releases for all platforms on June 25th with all new wiggly Wii Remote controls for the Wii version of the title. Not sure what I mean? Good thing I have this video.

Video Thursday: RE4 Edition

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

I was perusing GameTrailers today looking for glitchy Spider Man 3 clips and I noticed two new Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition trailers. Now I doubt that those of you who have played the game in either it’s PS2 or NGC form will find anything new in these videos. The trailers seem to be targeted towards those who may be new to gaming. I mean we are talking about a game that was named “Game of the Year 2005″ by Nintendo Power, Official PlayStation Magazine and the SpikeTV Video Game Awards. So chances are you have at least played it if not finished it.

Rescue Mission Trailer

Now I haven’t played all the way through RE4 but there was one gun in that trailer that I’ve never seen. Anybody?

Video Thursday: Zombie Edition

Thursday, April 19th, 2007

Earlier this week I talked a bit about “Wii-Makes” well today on Video Thursday I give you some video from what seems to be the finest “Wii-Make” to date.

This is the New trailer for Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition which I thought was sub-titled “Biohazard Edition” But that could just be the Japanese title cause this trailer doesn’t make any mention of such a “Biohazard”. Nevertheless it’s an awesome trailer that made me jump up from my seat in triumph.

The trailer also contains some gameplay as Ada Wong which allows me to draw the conclusion that the Wii edition will contain “Separate Ways” originally only available on the PS2 version of the game. Ha! Take that Sony.

Today’s second video is 3 minutes of Umbrella Chronicles gameplay footy from Capcom’s Gamers Day earlier this month. We know that it’s kind of a retelling of the first RE story but some interesting things I noticed were that Chris and Jill may not split up this time and almost everything seems destructible. Reminds me of Area 51 which was and still very common at arcade here in Canada.

That’s it for this weeks Video Thursday see you all tomorrow.

Video Thursday: WiiTar Hero Edition

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

Greetings everyone for those of you that cared I am feeling better today so I am here to bring you Video Thursday.

Video Thursday: TMNT Edition

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

When I was a kid oh so many years ago there was one brand of toys that everyone had. Sure there were those kids that had a bunch of transformers, GI Joes or Masters of the Universe figures but everybody had Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Up until about 1996 ‘97 TMNT was the most successful toy franchise of all time until it was dethroned by those cute little Pokémon that so vigorously stole our hearts. So the TMNTs took a break from the toy and movie scene (whether that was because of the disastrous TMNT III movie no one really knows) the turtles even took a break from games. Until till now….
The TMNT IP and brand is back with a vengeance with a CG movie being released tomorrow and the multi-platform ninja beat um-up launching earlier this week and hitting the PS2 XB360 and for our intents and purposes the Nintendo Wii.

Today Wii Rally is showcasing some gameplay videos that give you a sample of each of the turtle’s unique powers you will be using throughout the game. There are four videos but they are short and since we have four videos there will be no bonus round today. Sorry kids next week I promise.

The second video is a demo of the Chariot Escape scene from Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: Rival Swords for the Wii.

Video Thursday: Review Edition

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

It’s Video Thursday once again and like the title says today we are featuring some video reviews from GameTrailers.com. Don’t get me wrong I like print reviews just fine but I find it infinitely easier to understand what a reviewer is talking about if I can see it at the same time. With that said I bring you reviews of two Wii games which came out recently. Sonic and the Secret Rings by Sega and EA Big’s SSX: Blur. Interesting side note regarding SSX: Blur. All my sources retail and otherwise are telling me that SSX: Blur is out already but EA’s website and various other publications are telling me that the game will be out on March 15th. So either EA didn’t bother to announce the date change or every retailer broke the street date and no one cared.

Grab a cup of tea maybe a few cookies sit back and enjoy. Maybe you will decide which games to try out this weekend.
