Two more classic games are now available through the Virtual Console.

Harvest Moon® (Super NES®, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 800 Wii Points) - This RPG title will have you living the not-so-simple-life down on the farm. Grow and reap crops in this well respected title.

Lords of Thunder (TurboGrafx-16 CD-ROM, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone – Fantasy Violence, 800 Wii Points) - is a side shooting scroller that casts you as a warrior. Shoot the bad guys to heavy metal tunes.

Both are available beginning today.

Also, Wii owners can send a gift virtual console game to other Wii owners. All you need is to have their friend code. Don’t worry about purchasing a game they already have. If you choose a game your friend already has, you will be alerted to this fact and sent back to the Wii shop to pick out something else. That makes holiday shopping super easy. Now if everyone on my list just had a Wii.

This week’s three new games to the Wii Shop may not have much in common but do sound pretty intriguing.

ZANAC (NES®, 1 player, rated E for Everyone - Mild Fantasy Violence, 500 Wii Points) is a vertically-scrolling shooter. Zanac must destroy the mechanized bases of the enemy forces. Zanac was originally released in 1986.

Eternal Champions™ (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, rated T for Teen - Animated Blood, Animated Violence, 800 Wii Points) is a 2D fighter that features 16 characters who have met an untimely death on Earth. Now they can battle it out to take on the eternal champion for a chance to avenge their death and return to Earth.

The Dynastic Hero (TurboGrafx16 CD-ROM, 1 player, rated E for Everyone - Comic Mischief, 800 Wii Points) is an action RPG featuring a cast of insect creatures. The insects have turned to Dyna to fight the evil-doers who have invaded their land. Besides fighting and battling your way through various levels, you will also be challenged to answer multiple choice questions that will help open up areas in the game.

Wrecking Crew™ (NES®, 1-2 players, rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points)- Mario and Luigi - armed with their mighty hammers - will become a fierce wrecking team as they tear down walls, beat up pipes, and more. The brothers must destroy 100 buildings while taking a break from saving the princess and the Mushroom Kingdom.

Sonic 3D Blast™ (Sega Genesis, 1 player, rated E for Everyone, 800 Wii Points) - Sonic steps up to the challenge of stopping evil-doer Dr. Eggman - aka Dr. Robotnik - from his plight to find special birds in an alternate universe than can travel anywhere. Play Sonic or Tails to collect rings and save the day.

Super Air Zonk (TurboGrafx16 CD-ROM, 1 player, rated E for Everyone – Mild Cartoon Violence, 800 Wii Points) - Zonk is the sequel to the shooting spin-off game of the Bonk series, Air Zonk. Fight enemies with killer tunes in this humorous game.

Three more classic games are now available for the virtual console of the Nintendo Wii, including one very popular Mario title.

maio3.jpgSuper Mario Bros. 3 (NES®, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points) - Mario and Luigi must stop Bowser whose antics aren’t just limited to the Mushroom Kingdom but are scattered throughout the seven lands surrounding it. This beloved title will give those Mario fans something to play while waiting for the release of Super Mario Galaxy next week.

Alien Soldier™ (Sega Genesis, 1 player, Rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older –Fantasy Violence, 900 Wii Points) - This side-scroller puts you in the role as Epsilon-Eagle, an alien solider genetically built to be superior in strength and intelligence. You have recently broken ties with the criminal organization Scarlet and a run in with the new leader left causalities that you now have sworn to revenge.

Power Golf (TurboGrafx16, 1-3 players, Rated E for Everyone, 600 Wii Points) - Power Golf is a golf game for up to three people that features three different modes of game play. You have single player STROKE PLLAY mode. There is also the multiplayer MATCH PLAY and COMPETITION modes.

New at the Wii Shop October 29th

In honor of Halloween, Nintendo releases Castlevania® II Simon’s Quest for the Wii’s virtual console. In this one person adventure, you take on the role of Simon Belmont to once again go toe-to-toe with Count Dracula. This sequel is rated E and costs 500 Wii points.

The side-scrolling fun continues with the release of Magician Lord. It’s up to a magician named Elta, last descendant of the famed Magician Lord, to save the world from the evil Gul-Agieze. Magician Lord is rated T and costs 900 Wii points.

Last but not least is Samurai Ghost where Kagekiyo must defeat the spirits of shogun Yoritomo and his clan. This platform game not only has the big boss at the end of each stage but also includes real samurai from 12th century Japan. Samuari Ghost costs 600 Wii points and is rated E 10+.
