Drought? What Drought?
Hey remember that drought we’re not supposed to be having?
Remember when NoA president Reggie Fils-Amie said that there would be no shortage of quality games for Wii owners to enjoy?
But hey, lets not live in the past. Let’s concentrate on the here and now.
Last week I walked into my local Blockbuster to find a new Wii game to play, having had enough of scrolling through the copious amounts of text found in Super Paper Mario. Still, I looked at the shelf and couldn’t find a single game I wanted to take home. I don’t think I’m being picky, but both the Wii and the PS3 seem to be suffering from the same disease: lack of quality content.
I can’t explain why this seems be occurring. All I can do is bite my cheek and hope for the best. Things do look like they’re going to pick up around the last week in May, but don’t be surprised if that drops off again around June. I noticed that there are a couple barren weeks between now and September where no games are slated for release. However, if you are a fan of games based on movies things should be great for you as all the publishers cash in on all the summer blockbuster licences.

I can’t agree with you more. And I haven’t even gone out and bought Paper Mario yet. Last thing I bought was SSX Blur. Nothing really of interest out there at the moment.

I gotta tell you that spider-man 3 is at least worth a rental. It seems that the game is better than the movie so far. I mean 2 handed web swinging through a fully mapped out manhatten. Its pretty darn cool. You should check it out.

As both a Wii owner and a 360 owner, I feel your pain in the Nintendo department. Even 360 isn’t churning stuff out as fast as I would think, but at least they still have games that seem to get people sucked into playing forever (Oblivion, Gears of War, Lost Planet, even still Halo 2).
I am just looking forward to a nice RPG out of Nintendo for some reason. That and Super Mario Galaxy. I also want to kick the asses of all the 3rd party developers not working overtime to get some good product out on the best/fastest selling system.

Summer’s coming people! All we can do is hope for some new games and leave our faith in a developers. What I’m hoping for is so many good new games come out (or some better virtual console games) this summer and I don’t have the money to buy/rent them (and I work and Blockbuster :O). Anyone else think they want the same thing? I’m still going nuts over this long ass wait for Super Smash Brothers Brawl!
