Euro VC Update 03/09/07

At first glance it may look like the Euro VC has 1-up on the NA VC but rest assured that it is no typo that is not the case. I’m speaking of course about this weeks TG-16 title Double Dungeons which could easily be mistaken for Double Dragon but such is not the case. Oh how back in the day so many games had similar names. Such marketing kafuffles never seem to happen anymore. Wasn’t David Jaffe’s latest project’s name very close to “Crackdown” until it was changed to Calling All Cars? I think so.
Galaga (NES, 500 Wii Points)
Super Ghouls ‘N Ghosts (SNES, 800 Wii Points)
Double Dungeons (TG-16, 600 Wii Points)

Gotta love the 80s and 90s video game industry, so shifty not like today…Oh wait a minute! Anyways, informative as usual Tim but I really think you should cover the Japanese side of the Wii more then you do, from a Nintendo perspective it’s infinitely more important then Europe. As a market for Nintendo and alot of the console-side of the industry, outside of the UK Europe is practically inconsequencial as a market region. Europe is much more important to the PC-side of the industry seeing as a good portion of the cutting edge techs come out of non-UK Europe (ie Crytek). For the console side, it’s really just the UK for the most part.
I understand you don’t really want to cover Japan because of your lack of understanding of the market and the demographic. But as I said as before from Nintendo’s point of view Japan is extremely important and therefore any Nintendo centric blog or website must and should cover the region.
