Mushroom Kingdom Hearts Announced

This month’s EGM has a nice little exclusive announcement for all you SquNix fans out there. Apparently Mario and his band of contemporaries will join Sora, Mickey and the rest of Kingdom Hearts crew for an all new adventure on the Wii. No surprises here after seeing the success of the first 3 Kingdom Hearts adventures. Even the card based Chain of Memories on the GBA was pretty decent.
The gameplay will most likely be very similar to that found in Twilight Princess. It’s so nice to see Square Enix and Nintendo working together again could this mean that there is a possibility to the long awaited sequel to Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars? I might just crap my pants for that one.

I’m well aware that gaming mags like to play jokes and this very well could one of them but it seems legit to me. Maybe I’m just being optimistic.

*cough* This is from EGM’s April issue. Its a joke. Besides KH is a Disney AND Square project. Not a Disney Square and Nintendo project. Even if this is going to be on the Wii(which isn’t likely since its confirmed KH3’s gameplay will be exactly like FFvsXIII) there wouldn’t be any Nintendo characters. If you honestly believe this… feel sorry for you.

And as I said earlier, KH3 will have battle mechanics similar to FFvsXIII(which is just based of KH2) So do you really think a game like KH2 would work on the Wii?

You make a very good point, Nick R0se. Especially since the only place the game has been “announced” is in EGM’s April issue. And we all know that EGM hasn’t been putting April Fool’s jokes in their April issue for several years now.
Also, even if an April Fool’s joke WERE to be printed in a magazine, the only day it would actually work is on April 1st. The joke content automatically becomes true for the other 364 days of the year.
In fact, I just got a call from Aeris at GameStop telling me to come in and trade in some old games towards of a pre-purchase of Mushroom Kingdom Hearts. I think I’ll take her up on that…I want to be guaranteed a copy on day one!

To add to Christopher’s post…EGM was the same Mag. that said FFVII remake was in the works and KH2:FM+ is coming to America….I really won’t trust EGM even if this was a July issue.

Paper Mario is more of a spin off than a sequel to Super Mario RPG in fact one could consider it completely unique on account of the story and gameplay being quite different.

A scan? Thats your proof? If this is a scan of the EGM article, I already have it.And it did not have any confirmation. As I stated before this is the April issue, and this is an April fools joke. In the next issue, they will state this. Just like all the other times.

Its hard to say that there is something like that coming out on the wii. though it is true in other press confrences with nomura-sama that he has been spending more and more time with disney than sony. so my guess is that this is not a april fools day joke, and i believe that it is the real thing, especially since it came out THIS MONTH and not on, oh i dunno, april. so i believe that Nomura-sama will not abandon sony, but more like borden square-enix’s horizons by going with nitendo. and besieds the ps3 is way too much money >

Oh Tim, when they officially announce I will apologize. Just don’t expect one, because this Wii game will not come out(simply because they said Nintendo’s characters will appear which is total BS) And Mykell, EGM release their issue a month in advance to subscribers(Like I had the March issue in February) They only reason I’m even arguing this is because I don’t want people to spread lies.

Well you have to think. Nomura wants to finish VsXIII before he starts production of KH3. So VsXIII will be released late 08-early 09. Now it took 3-4 years to make KH2. Assuming it’ll take the same amount, KH3 could be scheduled to be released 2011-2013.

You need a thicker skin, and you need to learn to ignore the people that are insulting you, or at least you need to respond like an adult. Remember your post from 2 weeks ago? Bii Nice to People? That applies on both sides of the fence my friend. Even though you’re “only a blog” you probably realize that people rely on you for wii news. I know I did. As bloggers become more and more valid as a means to spread news, the line between you and “real media” becomes blurry. You seemed professional up until now, but accepting one “announcement” as truth without any other sources backing you up is just silly.
I can actually let that slide, however insulting your readers like you have been in this thread means that I (and probably others as well) will be getting my Wii News from other sources. Have a great day! I’m hitting the Tanooki from now on.

I’m sorry to hear that dude.
If you’ve been reading Wii Rally as long as you say you have than you should know that most things I say are done with my tongue placed firmly in cheek. My skin is plenty thick I’ve actually been having quite a bit of fun with Mr. D’oh! As for accepting 1 announcement as truth. IMO EGM is a reliable source for news. I have done background research including contacting Nintendo and SquEnix to no avail. As for insulting readers again not serious. On Wii Rally everyone is entitled to their opinion and I’m excited that this post has actually spawned a nice discussion regarding Kingdom Hearts. If you still feel the same Earl than I’m sure Tanooki will welcome you. I hear they do good work.

Damn, I didn’t know EGM played an April Fool’s Joke in their April issue since I don’t really read their mag. It’s been confirmed that it is indeed an April Fools joke. Damn. I really wanted to see this happen. But, can you blame me for believing? SquNix has been working with Nintendo alot, with all the FF games on GBA and DS, plus Mario 3-on-3 Hoops was a SquNix project also.

holy crap, most of you ppl arent very smart now are you? Christopher said that egm hadnt posted a fools day joke for years. The had one last year! He clearly didnt hear about the twilight princes grafics version of wind waker. And seeing as how the mushroom KH article was indeed in the April isue. Although a KH on the wii is very powerful seeing as how disney has an entire development team devoted to nothing but the wii, Square would have to follow disney if the went wii style. But i digress. So ne one who things that article is true, well you just let me know when you finaly unlock sonich on supersmash brothers.. heh… morons…

Disney owns Kingdom Hearts, they can do what they want with it, and Sora is a Disney character. This has been claimed in other news articles.
This may not even be Kingdom Hearts 3, but a KH side story that has nothing to do with the main series of games. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles was a FF game, just not an entry in the main series.
EGM are notorious fib-tellers in April. This is a horrible month to break this story IF it is true (and I hope it is). If it is, however, this will be the greatest Nintendo love-fest since Super Smash Bros.

You guys are a bit ill-informed. EGM ALWAYS plays an April Fool’s Joke. Always. Last year it was about a “Gaming iPod.” The year before they promised a Zelda pre-order were you got to play Wind Waker with TP graphics. It is always in the APRIL issue, which this one was. If this Mushroom Kingdom Hearts ( a crazy title) were to be true we would have heard about it besides this magazine. If this is not their infamous April Fools Joke then tell me, which article is?

Okay, take a close look at the picture in the magazine:
1) The image of Sora is from a KHII Poster I got in the same magazine last year.
2) Mickey’s pose is very common.
3) There is no background.
4) Mario looks like he’s just a photoshop copy of Mickey.
I’d love to believe it, but it’s not true.

I talked to one of the workers down at the square enix comp. and I explained everything about mushroom kingdom hearts. he just told me that it was all just a joke that has gone to far. it saddens me to say but there will be no kingdom hearts for the wii

The EGM magazine was made in april but not april 1st and it says Square Enix is rambeling up a radically new Kingdom Hearts game. It also says it takes place under the pipes of Mushroom Kingdom, and they have the early logo if anybody still needs proof then listen to this. It says it will have cast of over 41 Nitendo charcters not only that but a bunch of other charcters from the firs two KH games so you still dont belive it’s real then read the artical it has even more proof. i dont know why people still says that about the 41 characters, i mean, if they would have sad that there where 25 characters you would say 25 is half of 50 and thats half of 100, so half of year is jun and jul so half of them is march and april so april fool joke, and the same with any number.

ever since Square Enix helped Nintendo with Mario 3 on 3 Hoops, it could be possible! They had a ninja, a white mage, and a red mage in the game as unlockable characters.

It’s been a really long time now, and I’m just curious. Has anyone got any proof to see if this is a real or game or not? Don’t know if this board’s been abandoned but there’s a lot of good reviews here stating with the facts. Like anyone else, I’d really like to know if this is a prank or not. That’s all. :]

I doubt it. The picture is obviously forged too. Anyone can google a picture of the 5 and put text into it and upload it to the internet. If it was confirmed then they’d do a better job of it. You didn’t work very hard on this hoax did you? Beleive what you want but simply, think about the roster for mario hoops if your going to use it as proof. They only had 4 characters and all of them are minor. They didn’t have specific characters at all. If they did that would prove square enix trusts nintendo and something like this would be possible. I’m not releasing my name. I only randomly came across this and I’m not going to suplly information at all.
