Rock Band for the Wii
Rock Band for the Wii is indeed in the works. Back in Rock Band was first announced in April 2007, it was alluded that Rock Band would be developed for the Wii. No updates have been given on the progress or even if Rock Band was still in the works for the Wii until now.

EA’s chief executive John Riccitiello let news of an upcoming launch of Rock Band for the Wii slip during a conference call. That is all Riccitiello let slide. No word on a time frame or release date. It will probably be like most video game release dates: it will be ready when it’s ready.
Rock Band bundles were released in mid-November for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A bundle was also released in December for the PlayStation 2.
Rock Band supports up to four players who take on roles of members of a band. There’s the lead singer, drummer, bassist, and guitarist. Rock Band bundles that sold from $159-$169 included the game, microphone, one guitar, and drum set. Some of the individual components of the game are slated to be available this month.
It is exciting news to hear that EA just hasn’t forgotten about the Wii when it comes to Rock Band. There is no official word as to how the Wii Rock Band might differ from the other console versions. When Rock Band was originally announced, it was mentioned that the developers do plan to play to the strengths of the Wii console when making the game.
Hopefully an official announcement of a release date is on the horizon with more details about the game.

I have played both the 360 version of Guitar Hero III as well as the Wii version. The little additions like the rumble and hearing your guitar string being misplucked out of the Wiimote speaker actually really adds a lot to the game (especially if all other features are the same). I await to see how, if at all, the Mic and Drums are going to fare on the Wii, this might make the difference on which system I end up buying the game for.
(If they don’t announce the Rock Band downloadable content soon however, I might be forced into getting the 360 version)
